
But for one child, it worked. We struggled throughout the school-year to get him to do the work, to then turn the assignments in - with his name on it!, to bring homework home AND complete it, and to care that this was important. In spite of being smart, he just didn't seem to care this year that he was becoming a "D student." We were scared for a while, that he would be left home to think about what he was missing out on . . . but he did it.
