MK and Robot

What's another word for pride? (Synonyms: arrogance, conceit, smugness, self-importance, nope those are not the right words.) There's got to be another way of explaining how happy and content Miss MK was last Friday.

Miss MK walked out of her Pre-K class on Friday afternoon with backpack on and big blue bag at her side. I wish I would have known to bring a camera with me to be able to capture the pride/self-importance/floaty with happiness walk that MK walked - because of what she was carrying in her bag. And she couldn't wait to get in the van. And she couldn't wait to tell me: "I brought Robot home!" (Qah-what? A Robot?) Then she hands me the notebook while she holds the stuffed bear with great pride. (Seriously, there's got to be a better word to explain it.) Apparently this little bear is named Robot and goes home on weekend with different classmates then each little classmate does something fun and writes about it in the class journal with a picture to document it. So fun! So exciting for Miss MK. So cool that she was chosen - and there's great pride in that aspect: "I was chosen to bring Robot home!"

So Friday we made lots of plans. Saturday we forgot all about our plans. Sunday Miss MK starts crying as we're headed to church that we forgot to take a picture of her and Robot going to church together. Sure! We don't know Robot's religious affiliation but sure, we'll take him along (but he had to stay in the car and wait for Miss MK to come back - she knows the family rule, No toys at church.)

And then Miss MK had to have a picture of her learning to ride a bike with Robot - usually a Saturday activity, but as previously mentioned, we're forgetful parents when it comes to "fun stuff" unless it's written on The Calendar (a revered 12 x 15 packet of 12 papers that keeps our family of 7 crazy life in order). So we broke the rule this once and let Miss MK try to learn to ride the bike with Robot giving direction. And she was so proud and happy!

And now, a day late, we are writing about MK and Robot's BIG adventure in e-life!
