We woke up this morning thinking our lives our good in regard to Mr. A. He's on a schedule - more or less: awake at 6:30 a.m., gets showered (by Dad) and dressed, eats (a Gerber Stage 1 veggie -we think peas are his fav), plays, has a nap at 9:30 for two hours then gets up, eats, plays, naps again from 2:30-4:30 or so and again he plays, eats his dinner when we do (another Gerber Stage 1, different flavor like squash, beans or carrots), takes a one-hour nap at 7 p.m., goes to bed at 9 p.m. and sleeps through the night except for waking up once for a bottle. We're happy with the schedule. It works for him and for us. And he is the happiest little guy. This is what we think until 11 a.m. when we take him in for his 6 month check-up and he gets his puppy shots. Ugh! He's so hot and sick for the next 3 days, he is cranky for the next 2 weeks, and he has No Schedule. Ugh - shots - the two-edged sword. Frustrating ... yet we're so grateful he won't die from whooping cough or polio. Now if only there were a shot for amputation: this little guy seems to find something constantly to get into that has the possibility of amputating a toe, a limb or even his head. Scary!
